Join us at North Farms Park to kick-off the start of our Summer StoryWalk! We will walk the trail and read Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall together. 

Learn about the four essential components of a habitat – food, water, shelter, and space (air). We will play a game and meet live animal ambassadors while learning about native animals that live in CT habitats such as fields, forests, and ponds.

Owl pellets will be used to teach food webs, ecosystems, anatomy, and writing (every pellet tells a story). Act as detectives and fine surgeons, using forceps and probes in their exploration of pelletized “victims.”

What are food webs and why are they so important? Learn what animals eat and who eats them. Find out why “pests” like mosquitoes are as important as “cute” animals like chipmunks.

North? South? Enrich your outdoor adventures by learning to read a map and use a compass then test your new skills with some orienteering games.

Registration Required. Recommended for children ages 5-11.
