What is Narcan?

Narcan (naloxone) is a prescription medicine that blocks the effects of opioids and reverses an overdose. Opioids include heroin and prescription pain pills such as oxycodone, codeine, and morphine.

Who can administer Narcan?

Individuals who complete Narcan Training are allowed to possess and administer Narcan to a person having an overdose.

Training will include:

  • Overdose Prevention Strategies
  • Signs and Symptoms of Overdose
  • How to Administer Narcan
  • Good Samaritan Law
  • Support Information and Resources
